      Thank you for your inquiry. The Hurricane and Sierra saddlebags both require a pannier rack for proper use. The straps at all 4 corners need to wrap a round a rack for proper attachment. Have you got a rack? If so, which one?

      Thank you for your inquiry. The map pocket is right at that same size. Answer, yes... the tablet will slide into the pocket.

    Has anyone experienced this sliding down if there's any weight inside of it? I'm wanting one to handle my camera gear and think it might slide down after some miles and bumps. Also, what's the dimensions of the cell phone pocket? I'm needing 5"x8.5" for my tablet. Thanks all!

      Thank you for your inquiry. We have many customers who use this tank bag for camera gear among other things. The agents are strong and once the bag is set on the tank the weight inside the bag using on the anti-slip gripper base material is what really keeps it from moving. The Magnets just keep it centered in location. Your 8" x 5" tablet will slide into the map pocket. We cut a pice of cardboard to test fit... and while it fits, the hook & loop at the base of the inside pocket will not latch. A small additional 2" piece will fix that. I personally run a MacBook Pro 14" in a case and I set it on its side inside the bag. with the bag not expanded it fits... but is tight. If I let out the expansion, there is room to spare. • @Nelsonriggusa
      @Nelsonriggusa Месяц назад

      Thank you for your inquiry. The RG-020 Trails End saddlebags do look smaller on the bike than the SE-4014 Hurricane saddlebags but when expanded fully, they do hold nearly the same amount of gear. The Hurricane bags hold the gear vertically and closer to the bike where as the Trails End when expanded hold the gear further out and away from the bike making the load much wider. The Hurricane bags also allow the addition of RiggPak's to the top and bottom increasing the storage capacity 5L at a time. Pretty neat set-up.

    This past Saturday, I used the Weekender for a 400+ mile ride in Wisconsin (on the back of a 2014 Honda VFR800). I had a $4500 digital SLR camera in it and, though riding a 100+ miles of that trip in the pouring rain, there was zero evidence of any moisture whatsoever in that bag. Yes, I used the rain cover, but I did not secure it properly. Somewhere in the last 15 miles when I hit the last thunderstorm before home, the cover had blown away... yet everything in that bag remained 100% dry. I also own one of their Hurricane bags and highly recommend them as they can be worn as a backpack, or strapped down to the moto tail, and fit perfectly in overhead stowage when flying! Next up for me is their waterproof riding suit!

    • @Nelsonriggusa
      @Nelsonriggusa Месяц назад

      Thank you for your support John. It is unfortunate about the rain cover!!! There are gussets at each corner for the quick release buckles to pass through, this ensures that you will never loose a rain cover! Oh well on that one... Please email info@nelsonrigg.com and we will get you a new one! Coupon Code RUclips will save you 25% on that rain suit. We recommend the Solo Storm as the jacket is fully lined an more comfortable for a day on the motorcycle. Happy to hear your cameras were dry!!!

    I have the saddlebags in a Versys 300, one of them started to burn because of the exhaust gas (not because of contact but hot gas), can this help avoiding the burning?, any recommendations to repair my saddlebag?, thanks

    • @Nelsonriggusa
      @Nelsonriggusa Месяц назад

      Thanks for sharing. Many Versys riders use our products without issue. Which specific bags are you running? Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? The easiest fix is to take your bike to any muffler shop. They can weld on a tip that will make the exhaust gasses flow away from the bags. We have done that on a couple of our bikes. On the BMW R1250GS the tubes can be heated and bent, easy fix. There might be an easy fix a muffler shop can do for your bike too. Just need to make sure the gasses are not hitting the bags at full throttle.

I feel that is a big misstep not showing a step by step on that one. I believe for my narrow pillion seat this could be the ideal option with the least amount of material. There needs to be close ups of each end and the assembly for this method.

      Much appreciated! I know it should be pretty straightforward but the way the strap is stitched over at the ends not sure how you’d remove the buckle without damaging either. I’m sure I’m missing something obvious but that’s why I’m asking.

    • @Nelsonriggusa
      @Nelsonriggusa 2 месяца назад

      There are two ways to go about it... The first take a little pressure and patience. The folded web strap can be fed through the buckle. It is not easy, but can be done. The second... cut the fold off the end and burn it with a lighter. Now it will be EASY and you can choose how much "extra strap" you want to work with. Thanks for your support.

      @Nelsonriggusa 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for watching! Clips should not need to come off... but if you do need them to come off, you can cut the tri-fold and sear the end with a lighter. What is the situation you are running into?

      @@Nelsonriggusa Interesting to know as I have considered buying a donor passenger seat and bolting the bag to it with large washers either side, simply to make the bag harder to steal and the ultimate way of knowing the bag wont come loose mid ride. That said I doubt I ever would go through with it as the bag seems to hold on quiet well.

    A cable entry point on the side facing the handlebars would make more sense. Why would the charging cable be coming from the rider?

    • @Nelsonriggusa
      @Nelsonriggusa 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for your inquiry. When this bag was made, most power cables came from the battery via a "battery tender lead" and... riders were using wired headphones connecting to ipods and 3.5mm headphone jacks. Times have changed. We now have power up in the fairing / on the handlebars. Might be time for a revision. Thank you for the suggestion.

      @@Nelsonriggusa Thank you for the reply. That does make sense, I was not taking the time of manufacture into consideration. Surprising how much things have changed what with headset comms, onboard USB etc. There are lots of tankbags on the market which either do not have a cable entry point or the phone "pouch" is not big enough for modern phones and even if it is, the cable is pushed at an angle when charging. Solve these problems and you are onto a winner.

    I bought these and they are very unique and we'll made. 100% waterproof, unlike mosko or giant loop products. I also got wp hurricane tail bag, wp hurricane tank bag. Also that rigg gear 10litre roll bag for a tent, mattress and sleeping bag (2,5kg/5,5lb). Also, I mounted two 5litre crashbar bags under the saddlebags for all of the heavy gear, if needed. For example 1 gallon fuel/water bladder in the opposite side of the muffler to balance it's weight and Tools and cooking hardware to other side. You can barely feel the weight of the gear, because weight is now so down low. What a difference compared to my old adv-bike with aluminium cases. Those empty cases (with mounts) weights the same than all of my current rigg gear luggage with full gear. For a week.

    Just got my trails end enduro bag stolen last week. I used to carry everything in a liner bag and just leave the empty tail bag on the bike. I ordered the new hurricane because the last bag was such a nice product and got used to the convenience of a tail bag. I guess now I have to adapt something to quick release it. Thats the only missing piece of the puzzle for this bag to be perfect.

    Ok I need someone to sway me in one direction or the other cause I’ve got analysis paralysis. I’m a DR650 rider, I’m not afraid to throw 28L on the back considering my luggage top bag is 30L. Am I going to regret going with 28L for the tail bag or would 12L be more suitable for the rear end of the DR? For the record, I’m not one to worry about looks, I’m a function over aesthetics kinda guy

    • @Nelsonriggusa
      @Nelsonriggusa 3 месяца назад

      Kyle here... While I like the looks of the 12L better than the 28L, I can carry so much stuff in the 28L that is what I choose when I head out. It's not too big for the DR in my opinion.

    Not having to re-attach to the bike every time the bag is removed is a nice time savings. Makes the "on & off" much quicker than using the straps riveted to the bag.
